Improvements to the entrance to Haycombe cemetery

In our final budget in February before this year's allocation we allocated a sum of money to improve the entrance and improve traffic safety at this important junction. Wee are pleased that the new Administration of the Council is proceeding with this project. Over the years as you local Councillors we have put a lot of effort into keeping Haycombe as a top class cemetery and crematorium to meet the needs of all at a sad point in the lives of families and people. Southdown Councillor Dine Romero (Lib Dem) commented: “I am delighted that the improvements to the Haycombe Cemetery and Crematorium entrance are going ahead. Councillor Paul Crossley and I secured the funding for this project as part of the last budget set by the Liberal Democrat administration. The enlargement of the entrance will help with the flow of traffic on Whiteway Road, making it easier for mourners to get in and out, and will improve safety for road users, pedestrians and customers. We trust that there will be minimal disruption during the improvement works and we look forward to their swift completion.”
