Southdown Infant and Junior Federation

The two governing bodies of Southdown Infant and Junior schools have decided to federate the two schools under a single headteacher and one governing body.
We think this is good news for the children and the community. We would like to thank all of those who served the community on either governing body and wish the new federated governing body success for the future.

For Paul, this will indeed be a big change as he will not be on the new governing body. He was first elected to serve the residents of Southdown in May 1988 and joined the Infant governing body in September 1990. He served continuously as a school governor till the end of the body on 31 Dec 2013. During this time he worked with 3 heads and an interim and was also chair of the governors twice for a total of 5 years out of the 25 years service to the school.
